Buy from AKTretail.com

The Nav-Aid is a simple navigation aid which Chuck Sutherland invented. It is light,Photo of a Nav-Aid inexpensive, and easy to use. The Nav-Aid is a clear plastic rectangle overprinted with a 3" compass rose. A length of synthetic line, called a Bearing Line, rises from the center of the compass rose and can be stretched out in any direction around the compass rose. You must draw a line on the Nav-Aid that is exactly over the TRUE north/south lines on the chart's compass rose so the Nav-Aid is calibrated for the area you paddle and you don't need to correct for variation. By marking the Bearing Line with the chart's mile scale, it is easy to check both bearing and mileage. The Nav-Aid helps to simplify the difficult technique of navigating from a kayak. Detailed information on the use of the Nav-Aid in the Navigation section of the Expert Center.
