Kayaking Tour from Catskill, NY
We launch from Dutchman’s Landing in the town of Catskill for both the north and the south trips. On the north route, our kayaking tour allows us to paddle past Rogers Island to Hudson-Athens Lighthouse. Lunch is at a beach which offers a great spot to swim or cool off on warm days. Before heading back to the launch we paddle up Catskill Creek, from there we can explore Ramshorn Creek, also known as Little Amazon.
On the south route, we paddle into Ramshorn Creek on our way south towards Germantown Landing for lunch. Along the way, there are a few of the prettiest creeks on the river to poke around. We’ve frequently seen bald eagles here as well. Both routes on our Catskill kayak tours cover about six to 10 miles.
Artists and writers have long been inspired by the majesty of this area. After a day on the peaceful Hudson River, the source of their inspiration becomes apparent.
…. the Hudson and the opposite shores, so wonderful toward sunset … the noiseless splash of sunrise…Walt Whitman
