With the tide in our favor, we head under the Verrazano Narrows Bridge and cross over to the Brooklyn side. Rounding Norton Point, we head to the Coney Island amusement park area for lunch. A surf landing is very likely.
We take have lunch at Nathan’s and take long walk on the boardwalk. The world famous Cyclone Roller Coaster is a highlight of this program with perhaps another amusement ride or two before we start our return journey back to Staten Island. This program offers open water paddling, possible rough conditions, surf landing, and lunch at a world-famous location. While we have currents with us for most of our paddling, we also move at a faster paddling pace then most other programs.
This is a classic New York kayak tour.
*Note: No Rental boats are available. Must bring own sea kayak.
Please arrive 20-30 minutes before the program start time to get set up with your equipment so we can get the program started on time.
Call to Book: This program is call to book as we need to screen each candidate to make sure they meet the prerequisites. See below.
Core Techniques or equivalent skills are needed. It’s not enough to have just attended a Core Techniques class. You need to have support skills along with a solid forward stroke. We have to cross the Narrows which is a major shipping channel making speed important.
